03. Tafara Butayi at the Tree

Tafara Butayi is the Senior Pastor of Faith Hill Church. Together with his wife, Chipo, they have an assignment to empower the body of Christ to live in the fullness of their salvation. They shepherd the body of Christ, effectively teaching people to receive the fullness of their salvation and to walk in love, wellness and prosperity. Their practical and word-centered teachings strike the much sought after balance between the delicate topics of grace and faith. They are driven by a passionate commitment to see people succeed in every area of life. That passion, along with their enthusiasm, genuine love for people, and solid teaching has fueled a ministry which continues to grow and impacts lives.

Tafara grew up in a traditional church where he was actively involved in the youth ministry. In 2004, he became a Youth Pastor. This marked the beginning of his ministry. He successfully started a Youth’s ministry called Sold Out and travelled extensively across the country teaching and encouraging students in schools to rise up, build the church and seek after God. Under his leadership, the youth ministry grew and flourished.

In 2014, Tafara founded Faith Hill Church in Johannesburg, South Africa. The ministry now delivers 4 services in 3 locations in South Africa – Fourways, Braamfontein and Umhlanga in Durban.

Tafara is also the author of 4 books: Living life to the fullest, Every Prayer Answered, Why do bad things happen to good people and his most recent book Grace in the Marketplace. He also the host of Faith Hill TV, a weekly teaching show that airs across 10 million homes in Africa on the TBN Africa channel.
